and the word למען (for the sake of) is actually
a synonym for בשיבל – for
but be careful not to use למען all the time
in every situation
in any context
as a substitute for בשביל
for example, we don’t say
I’m buying a present למען (for) the boy
we say “I’m buying a present בשביל (for) the boy”
למען is a bit more literary
and is mostly found in phrases like
truth be told
