| The Hebrew name for this hit TV show is נִמְלָטִים (neem-lah-TEEM) – escapees. |
The basic word is לִבְרוֹח (leev-ROH-ahkh). For example, הַיַּלְדָּה בָּרְחָה מִבֵּית הַסֵּפֶר (hah-yahl-DAH bah-reh-KHAH mee-BEH-eet hah-SEH-fehr) – The girl ran away from school. לברוח is a simple verb (פָּעַל).
The more advanced word is לְהִמָּלֵט (leh-hee-mah-LET), as in הֶחָשׁוּד נִמְלַט מִזִּירַת הַפֶּשַׁע (heh-khah-SHOOD neem-LAHT mee-zee-RAHT hah-PEH-shah) – The suspect escaped the crime scene. להימלט belongs to that verb category that’s virtually impossible to classify, the נִפְעַל (neef-AHL).
