how to say “you look pale” in Hebrew

אַתָּה נִרְאֶה חִוֵּר

The Hebrew word for pale is חִוֵּר listen and repeat when referring to a male, and חִוֶּרֶת listen and repeat when referring to a female. But when used as an adverb, חיור is the right word for both males and females.

For example:

אַתְּ נִרְאֵית לִי קְצַת חִוֵּר הַיּוֹם.
You (a female) look to me a little pale today.

Now, even though that’s technically the correct way of saying it, the vast majority of Israelis are likely to use the adjective:

את נראית לי קצת חיורת היום.

Variations of the word חיור mean white or bright in sister-languages Aramaic and Arabic, for example:

صباح الخير!
Good morning!
