מַסָּע
If you know a little Hebrew, you’re probably familiar with the word for to travel – לִנְסוֹע (leen-SOH-ah).
A journey or trek is a מַסָּע (mah-SAH). This is not a journey in the sense of driving in your convertible from Tel Aviv up the coast to Netanya. Rather, this is the type of journey knights used to take in the Middle Ages, or a trek our Israeli soldiers take when they march 50 miles to build their survival skills… and thus help ensure the survival of the people of Israel. It can also be the type of journey taken in the heart and soul.
If you look closely at the word מַסָּע, you’ll notice dot in the second letter, ס (s). This dot represents the missing root-letter, נ (n), as it was difficult for ancient Hebrew speakers to pronounce מַנְסָע (mahn-SAH).
