The הפעיל verb structure is a causative one
or can I “feed” someone else
I can “remember” something
or I can “remind” someone about something
so that he will remember it
Got it? It’s something causative
likewise, I can “rent” a car
or I can rent a car to someone else
now, Israelis use the word להשכיר – “to rent out”
also in the sense of “to rent”
for example, “I’m renting a car to go to the Dead Sea”
and this is a grammatically-incorrect usage
but that’s what a lot of people say
so when you hear it, you’ll understand that it’s just what people say
