is the word most used today
to mean “blue”
for example, “the Israeli flag is made up of
blue and white”
but the word כחול is a relatively modern word
yeah, it does appear in the Bible somewhere
once
but even that one time it probably comes from Aramaic
the biblical Hebrew word
is תכלת and
when talking about the flag
we often just say
תכלת (azure) and white
תכלת is the color of the sea
of the sky .. not today
