כך עכבר העיר
לי מספר, בין בניינים
שהלילות שבעירו
הם החיים

ועכבר הכפר
בתוך שדה, כך לי אמר:
ריח מתוק של פרדסים
זה העיקר.

אני הולך ואז חוזר
יש בי מזה, וגם מזה,
יש בי שניהם

אז עכבר הכפר,
על השקיעות הוא מספר
וידידו, זה מהעיר,
שוב ממהר.

Thus the city mouse
