as in מקשה אחת-one piece?
apparently, נ.ק.ש
and it surprised me – I saw it in Wiktionary
and thought, how can this be?
There is no dot of emphasis on the Kuf after the missing Nun!
There is usually an emphasis that
indicates a Nun that was supposed to be there
and is emphasized – or at least once
when they spoke Hebrew two thousand years ago they
emphasized this Kuf
But in this word, there is no sign
there is no trace that indicates that
there is a Nun that has disappeared from the root
Anyway, this root נ.ק.ש
in meaning, is similar to the ק.ש.ה (hard) root
because נ.ק.ש brings us words
like “rigid”, for example
to tap, “to knock”
which are mainly used today
in the context of “please tap/press one”
but once – the original meaning was to
bang something with a hammer
to give it a certain shape
for example, to make a tool by hammering
instead of soldering parts together
and this brings us back to the meaning of
מקשה אחת-one piece
