how to say “really, really cold weather” in Hebrew
having trouble seeing the print?
Yesterday we saw the colorful Hebrew expression for really, really hot weather – חוֹם אֵימִים (khohm eh-ee-MEEM).
For those south of the equator (and those who don’t like constant air conditioning), here’s the even-more-colorful expression for really, really cold weather.
קוֹר כְּלָבִים (kohr keh-lah-VEEM) means, literally, cold of dogs. Imagine dogs barking because they’re stuck outside in the cold.
קור is cold the noun, as in the cold.
כֶּלֶב – dog – (KEH-lev) is the singular form of כלבים.
