Yesterday we saw the word for stomach – בטן[audioclip url=”https://archive.ulpan.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/קלקול-קיבה-2.m4a” /]. This word refers to the stomach as seen from the outside, as well as the organ. Another word, קיבה[audioclip url=”https://archive.ulpan.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/קלקול-קיבה-3.m4a” /], refers specifically to the organ, the stomach we can only see in an X-ray or in surgery.

An upset stomach is קלקול קיבה[audioclip url=”https://archive.ulpan.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/קלקול-קיבה-1.m4a” /] – literally, a breakdown of the stomach.
