how to say “sunscreen” in Hebrew
having trouble seeing the print?
As it’s warming up in the northern hemisphere, now’s the time to get some sunscreen.
The Hebrew term for sunscreen means literally, protection cream: קְרֶם הֲגָנָה (listen and repeat). The second word, הגנה (listen and repeat), is the noun form of the active-causative הִפְעִיל verb to protect – לְהָגֵן (listen and repeat).
Another term means suntan lotion – קְרֶם שִׁזּוּף (listen and repeat). To get a tan is לְהִשְׁתַּזֵּף (listen and repeat), a reflexive-causative הִתְפַּעֵל verb.
An example:
Before laying on the beach to get a tan, it’s recommended to put on (to spread) sunscreen. listen
