how to say “delicious” in Hebrew

מְאֹד טָעִים

Yesterday, we saw that the ah-EE vowel pattern makes a Hebrew concept “-able” or “-ible”, as in the word for edible (“eat-able”)אָכִיל listen and repeat.

Another word of the same structure is the one for tasty, or worthy of being tasted, able to be be tasted with pleasure: טָעִים listen and repeat.

For example:

הָאֹכֶל שֶׁהֵכַנְתָּ מְאֹד טָעִים!
The food you (a male) prepared is very tasty!

 listen

To mean delicious, you’d simply say מאוד טעים listen and repeat (very tasty) or נוֹרָא טָעִים listen and repeat (terribly tasty).

In the case of מאוד listen and repeat, the order doesn’t change the meaning, so you can also say טעים מאוד listen and repeat.
