The Hebrew word for screen is also as old as the Bible. While back then it didn’t refer to the flat object you’re looking at right now, today מסך[audioclip url=”https://archive.ulpan.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/המסך-הגדול-#.m4a” /] appears on smart phones, tablets, TV’s… and the big screen at the movie theater – המסך הגדול[audioclip url=”https://archive.ulpan.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/המסך-הגדול-#.m4a” /].

For example:

(For) two years I haven’t seen a movie on the big screen.
