how to say “screen” in Hebrew
having trouble seeing the print?

The flat object emanating light, text and images you’re probably looking at right now, a monitor, is called in Hebrew a מָסָך (mah-SAHKH). This word goes all the way back to the Torah, in which a מסך – a screen or curtain – adorns the entryway to the Biblical Tabernacle – הַמִּשְׁכָּן (hah-meesh-KAHN).
In addition to computer or TV monitor, Modern Hebrew employs the noun מסך in such phrases as the historical מָסָךְ הַבַּרְזֵל (mah-SAHKH hah-bahr-ZEL) – the Iron Curtain, as well as the symbol of the entertainment industry, מָסָךְ הַכֶּסֶף (mah-SAHKH hah-KEH-sef) – the Silver Screen.
A screen door, however, is called דֶּלֶת רֶשֶׁת (DEH-let REH-shet), literally, a door of net.
