how to say “PR” in Hebrew
My piece tonight at AACI (that I did last night in Raanana) on “The Hebrew you always wanted to know… but were too afraid to ask” is entertaining and educational. It’s also a PR – public relations – event for Ulpan La-Inyan.

PR in Hebrew is יַחֲסֵי צִבּוּר (yah-khah-SEH-ee tsee-BOOR), sometimes abbreviated in writing to יח”צ (Y.KH.TS).
Using that acronym as a word, a person who performs acts of יחסי ציבור is called a יַחְצָן (yahkh-TSAHN) if he’s a male, and a יַחְצָנִית (yahkh-tsah-NEET) if she’s a female.
The profession of public relations services is thus called יַחְצָנוּת (yahkh-tsah-NOOT).
If you’re around, come by tonight!
