Hello dear friends
It was a bit strange to me
that in Hebrew
there’s a foreign word
for “air”
I would have thought that in Hebrew
there would be an authentic word
authentic Semitic (word), as there is in Arabic
In Arabic it’s هواء (hawa)
and the word “hawa” is similar to other words
in other Semitic languages such as Amharic, I believe
and in Aramaic there’s a similar word
But in Aramaic there is also “avira” which is like in Hebrew
which comes from Greek
Anyway, I wondered why
and then I realized that the word “hawa”
probably, is from the same Semitic root
as the root ה.י.ה in Hebrew
and the ה.י.ה root is
already “taken” from the perspective of (dictionary) meaning
It’s the root of “was”, “present/is” and “will be”
and is also the root of the name of the God of Israel
