לדלג – a skippin’ an’ a jumpin’

Many Jewish communities around the world have the custom to recite Song of Songs (or Song of Solomon) over the Shabbat of Passover. It’s the passion-filled love poem of a young man and woman, considered to be an allegory (see the Wikipedia article for more on this).
One of the many breathtaking images in the poem is the one of the young man skipping on the hills – מְדַלֵּג עַל הֶהָרִים (me-dah-LEG al he-hah-REEM).
לדלג (le-dah-LEG) means to skip, both literally and figuratively (i.e. to skip a chapter when reading a book).
I’ve had the best time in Beit Alpha the past few days. Here’s a picture of some of the kids here, whom I took on a nice little excursion today skipping on the hills of the Gilboa:
