how to say “tailor-made for him/her” in Hebrew
having trouble seeing the print?
Sometimes people take on a job or position that fits them like a glove – it’s as if they were born for the task, or that the task is tailor-made for them.
In Hebrew, we say, תָּפוּר עָלָיו when referring to a male. It means, literally, it’s tailored to (on) him. לִתְפוֹר or לִתְפּוֹר (leet-FOHR or, less commonly, leet-POHR) is the active-simple פָּעַל verb for to sew.
Here’s an example when referring to a female:
Gila is very successful as a teacher – the role is tailor-made for her.
