The Hebrew word for emergency is חֵרוּם listen and repeat, as discussed here.

An exit is a יְצִיאָה listen and repeat, coming from the active-simple verb לָצֵאת listen and repeat to go out – whose root is י.צ.א (y.ts.a).

When יציאה is connected to another word in an “of” (construct-סְמִיכוּת) relationship, such as an exit of emergency, the ה (h) becomes a ת (t), and we get the phrase:

יְצִיאַת חֵרוּם
emergency exit

For example:

בְּבִנְיָן גָּדוֹל חָשׁוּב לָדַעַת אֵיפֹה יְצִיאוֹת הַחֵרוּם.
In a large building it’s important to know where the emergency exits are.

In slang, יציאה can refer to an amusing or surprising comment, such as:

הִיא נִרְאֲתָה לָנוּ בָּחוּרָה שְׁקֵטָה עַד שֶׁשָּׁמַענוּ כַּמָּה יְצִיאוֹת שֶׁלָּהּ.
She seemed to us like a quiet girl until we heard some of her comments.

יציאה has other meaning as well, summarized here.
