word בכּנות-honestly” or בכנות, as it should be said
is like saying, “between us”
for example, “honestly, I have nothing to say now”
or, “between us, I’m just blabbing in this video”
Now, “honesty” is a noun that is
based on an adjective
and this adjective is כן-honest
Most people say כנה for honest
for example, “I will be כנה-honest with you” and it
is actually a mistake, technically
Most people just say, “I will be כנֶה with you”
if it’s man speaking – a woman would say “I will be כנָה with you”
which is correct, proper usage
But כנֶה is not correct
but people probably say it
to differentiate from the word “yes”
because to say “I am yes with you” is a bit funny
(or – “I am yes with you”)
so people usually say כנה even though it’s a mistake
