Touching distance (“A Touch Away”)
is not only an expression
it is also a series, a TV series

that … in Judaism there is a religious law
that men and women who are not married to each other
and are not relatives are not allowed to
touch each other
And whoever observes this law is
called שומר נגיעה – “a touch keeper”
or, if she is a woman, שומרת נגיעה
Like “Shabbat keeper (observer)” – שומר שבת (m) / שומרת שבת (f)
But … there are more people who keep Shabbat
than those who keep from touching
Anyway, the series is called “A Touch Away ”
because they are so close
but so far, because it is forbidden to touch
