כפל is related to the הפעיל verb להכפיל[audioclip url=”https://archive.ulpan.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/כפל-#.m4a” /] – to double or to multiply, as in:

[audioclip url=”https://archive.ulpan.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/כפל-#.m4a” /]כדי להגיע לפתרון צריך להכפיל את x בשלוש.

In order to arrive at the solution (you) need to multiply x by three.
