I wrote about a “winter coat”
and a coat is something that covers the body
from rain and snow and wind and cold
but I was curious
what is the difference between a מעיל-coat and a jacket and a חליפה-suit jacket?
So I’ll show you
A coat, it’s a relatively long garment
Well, my coat is not so long
but really, it’s pretty long
and that is the main difference between it
and the jacket
And the word “jacket” of course comes from foreign languages
not from Hebrew
So what is a חליפה?
This is a suit (jacket) and the
words “coat” and “suit”
appear in the Torah
whereas “jacket” of course does not appear in the Torah
