now, when I say אדם ערכי
I refer not necessarily to a man
I can also refer to a woman
for example, “she is an אדם ערכי”
a bit funny, no?
אדם is a human being in general
the word אדם is an abbreviation, in fact, of בן אדם – human being (literally, “son of Adam”)
and we talk about בן אדם
even though you can really say “daughter of Eve”
no one says “daughter of Eve”
they just say בן אדם – son of Adam
she’s a good (בן אדם) person
