Hey dear friends
Today’s expression is
“never was and was never created”
Let’s focus for a moment on the word “was created”
Its root is ב.ר.א, and this is the root
of לברוא-to create, for example, “In the beginning
God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1)
And לברוא has a synonynn
ליצור-to form, which also appears
in the Torah portion of Genesis
The truth is that they’re synonyms
that can both be used
in the sense of “to create” something
from nothing, but the word ליצור
has an additional meaning of
to give something form
For example, today we say
that a יצירה-creation is something artistic
that is albeit something new, but it
is not from nothing, we’ve taken paints
we’ve taken words, and we’ve created something new
