Hey dear friends
The word להביע is similar to the word לבטא
They’re synonyms, but there is a difference
לבטא is more about the lips
the mouth, the action of expression itself
On the other hand, להביע comes from
the word נובע (springs from), from the root נ.ב.ע
which originally referred to sources
from which water would spring forth, and over time
the word took on a more abstract
meaning, and today להביע is to let
the matter come out from me, or from a text
or from a painting, for example, “what do you think
this painting expresses?”
