the second letter of the root gets a strong dot of emphasis
so we should say לככּב
but if we say לככּב
then it does not sound like כוכב – star
which is the meaning
after all, “to star” is to be a star
in the movies or something like that
so Hebrew prefers
to make it easier for the speaker and the listener
so they understand what’s being said
so we take that grammar rule
of a strong emphasis in the second root letter
we put it aside
