name Yemen derives from the Bible
They called a certain place (in the south) “Yemen”
before the state Yemen even arose
thousands of years before the state was established
but when you turn east
and look to the right
far far away is Yemen
Both in the Land of Israel in the Negev
as well as the modern state
in the southern Arabian Peninsula
Tel Aviv too is named after another place
In the Book of Ezekiel in the Bible
a place in Bablyon appears
that is called Tel Aviv
and for this place where
the city is called today “Tel Aviv”
both to express that there’s a תל-mound
of old… a תל-mound is a place
it’s a kind of this hill of old things
and אביב-spring is the renewal
So Tel Aviv is a place
that connects the old and the new which
is actually the whole State of Israel
