This is not called גיור, it’s called המרת דת-converting religions
להמיר is to turn one thing into another
For example, “she converted her religion”
And this in general
But when talking about specific religions
like Christianity and Islam
we usually say that the person מתנצר-becomes Christian
להתנצר means “to turn into a Christian”
and להתאסלם is to become a Muslim
from the word “Islam”
