word כרוכית (@ sign) as I wrote
is related to the word כריך, which
is a sandwich – Israelis usually call it a sandwich
but there are those who also call it a כריך
it isn’t a stuffy word, it is a pretty usable word
and the root is כ.ר.כ
which is same root as in the word “korekh”
that you may recognize from the Seder night
we wrap matzah and bitter herbs together and eat
but what’s the idea of “wrapping” there?
after all, matzah is like a cracker – it’s flat and
hard, and it is not possible to wrap it
except that once, the matzahs were softer
and could be wrapped
